DSIB Reports

DSIB Report 2018-2019

Overall school performance: OUTSTANDING

"Every year the expectations of the inspection process increase and this year was no different. This makes the achievement of another outstanding judgment so pleasing. The staff here work so hard every day and the outcomes the students achieve are consistently world class. To have this recognised by such a rigorous process as a DSIB inspection is such an achievement. I would like to make specific reference to the improvements in Arabic and Islamic which have seen a 50% improvement in the last two years. This is the culmination of years of effort to improve how we deliver these vital subjects and I am thrilled the team were able to endorse this work.

This inspection marks the 9th consecutive year of an outstanding judgment for both Jumeirah College and Jumeirah Primary School. This is a phenomenal achievement, but reflects the incredibly high standard of education being provided to our students on Street 19 every day."

School Achievements

Over the last couple of years, the success of the students at Jumeirah College has attracted significant attention from both within the UAE and internationally. As you are aware, this has included nominations for British International School by both the TES and the British International School Awards as well as recognition from local organisations such as Which School Advisor and other education media. A frequent enquiry asks how the school achieves the standards that it does.

In order to help provide an answer to this question I recently asked a local journalist, Anna Seaman, to complete her own investigation. Anna spent several days at Jumeirah College and at Jumeirah Primary School, talking to staff, students and parents about their experiences. I think it’s a very powerful reflection of what happens at the schools. I hope you enjoy it.
