Ms Candice Quilliam
Head of Psychology
Originally from the UK, Candice has been teaching in the UAE for the past 10 years. During this time, she has held a variety of roles across both academic and pastoral areas, including Head of Year and Head of Department. Her broad experience has allowed her to support students in many aspects of their school life.
Candice has a long-standing passion for Psychology and enjoys bringing the subject to life in the classroom. She holds an MSc in Sport Psychology and has a particular interest in how psychological principles apply to performance and well-being. As part of her postgraduate work, she contributed to a research paper published in the International Journal of Sport Psychology, titled An Investigation of Choking in Sport and the Moderating Influence of Physiological Stress.
In her teaching, Candice strives to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment where students feel confident to think critically and engage with ideas beyond the classroom content. She is committed to helping students grow both academically and personally, preparing them with the skills and mindset needed for their next steps in education and beyond.
Outside the classroom, Candice continues to follow developments in Psychology, particularly within sport and performance contexts. She enjoys showing students how Psychology is everywhere—from decision-making and relationships to sport, media, and everyday behaviour—helping them make meaningful connections between what they learn in class and the world around them.
