Mrs Kelly Storey
Graduating in 2003 with a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Rhodes University, South Africa where she had also completed undergraduate and Honors level study in both History and Anthropology, Kelly worked as a junior lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Development Studies at the University of Johannesburg (formerly the Rand Afrikaans University) for several years.
In 2006 she moved to the United Kingdom with her husband and completed the Graduate Teacher Program with the Redcar and Cleveland Local Education Authority, before teaching History and Media Studies at schools in the area.
She joined Jumeirah College in 2009 working as a Head of Year, and since 2015 as Head of History and Politics. Incredibly passionate about both subjects, and committed to the vital importance of History in shaping the critical thinkers of tomorrow, she works to instill a love of the patterns and complexities of history, and trace their intersections with contemporary politics.
