Mr Nicola Ford
Assistant Principal
Hailing originally from North Yorkshire, Nichola graduated with an honours degree from Newcastle University in 2001, and subsequently gained her PGCE from St Mary’s University in Twickenham, London. She started her teaching career working in two outstanding girls schools in South West London before moving to Dubai and joining Jumeirah College in 2009.
Throughout her tenure at Jumeirah College, Nichola has held the positions of Head of Year, Head of Mathematics, Senior Teacher and now, Assistant Principal: Head of Lower School. As a teacher, Nichola is passionate about sharing her love of mathematics and problem solving with the students, helping them to reach those ‘light-bulb’ moments in lessons and instilling in them a joy of learning and an appreciation of mathematics. As a senior leader within the school, Nichola has launched a school-wide coaching program and led on a variety of professional learning groups, including provision for More and Exceptionally Able pupils.
Also the mother of two young girls in Year 2 and 4 at JPS, Nichola understands the demands of family life, a healthy work-life balance and the importance of school community in raising children in Dubai. Working closely with JPS, Nichola is leading on the development of seamless transition between the two schools to ensure we have happy and confident young people joining us year after year.
