Ms Tasneem Kadu
Head of Art
Tasneem graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Graphic
Design from Salford University, where she developed a strong interest in visual
communication and creative practice. After graduating, she spent a year running
her own business, producing personalised poster prints, greetings cards and
selling them across the UK through Etsy. Alongside this, she gained valuable
creative experiences working as a seamstress assistant in a local wedding dress
store, a florist assistant, and as a sales assistant in retail. These roles
broadened her understanding of design, textiles, and craft, while her hobby of
baking further encouraged her to explore creativity beyond art and design.
In 2014, Tasneem completed her PGCE and began her teaching
career with Star Academies in the Northwest of the UK. During her seven years
with the trust, she progressed from classroom teacher to Deputy Head of Art
& Design Technology in 2017. Her time at Star Academies allowed her to
develop her leadership skills, design inclusive curriculum experiences, and
strengthen her commitment to ensuring that art education is accessible and
inspiring for all students.
Tasneem moved to Dubai in 2021 to join Jumeirah College as
an Art & Design teacher. After contributing to the department for several
years, she was appointed Head of Department in the summer of 2025. Her vision
as Head of Art & Design is to foster creativity, inclusivity, and teamwork,
while providing students with opportunities to explore their individuality and
technical skills through a diverse curriculum.
Her passion for the arts extends beyond the classroom, with
a particular interest in the vast and dynamic art scene in Dubai. Tasneem aims
to bring this enthusiasm into her teaching, inspiring her students to connect
with the wider creative world and discover their own artistic voice.
Outside of school, she enjoys travelling, exploring the
outdoors, visiting art museums, and baking. She sees herself as a lifelong
learner and encourages her students to adopt the same mindset: remaining
curious, creative, and confident in their artistic journey.
