Ms Lauryn James
Head of Music
Lauryn graduated with a BA with First Class Honours in Music
Performance and Production before completing her Post Graduate Diploma in
Education at University College London. She began her career in London, where
she became Head of Department at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school, developing
a thriving and inclusive music curriculum.
A trained singer specialising in vocal performance and music
production, Lauryn is passionate about inspiring students to explore their
creativity, build confidence, and achieve musical excellence. In recognition of
her commitment to both staff and students, she was awarded the prestigious Jack
Petchey Leadership Award in her previous role.
Lauryn is delighted to be joining Jumeirah College and looks
forward to leading the Music Department, nurturing talent across all year
groups, and fostering a vibrant culture of performance and creativity.
