Mr Andrew Berry

Andrew is an experienced Head of Science with more than fifteen years classroom practice behind him. Previously working in both A level and IB schools has forged a keen interest in how Science works. Andrew believes that students learn best by planning, conducting and evaluating their own experimental work. This style of learning will become more prevalent at Jumeirah College at all phases as he in-beds some of his ideas across the Science department.

Originally from Swansea, in South Wales, Andrew has a passion for sports and the outdoors. Rugby, Football, Swimming and Golf are his main interests. Outside of school he likes cycling at Al Qudra, mountain biking in Hatta and hiking through the Hajar mountains with his children. He has explored a lot of the region in the ten years he has spent living in the UAE.

As part of his Senior Teacher role Andrew is responsible for overseeing STEAM initiatives, innovation across the school and health & safety. He will be coordinating our much-anticipated National Day Celebrations later in term 1.
