Welcome to the new and enhanced JC!
Work is underway, and already partially complete, to make JC’s facilities and provision even better, improving and expanding the educational experiences and opportunities for all our students.
These exciting new developments are designed to not only elevate our world-leading academic outcomes, but also provide an enriched teaching and learning environment.
The project includes construction of a brand-new sixth-form wing, housed in a converted villa adjacent to, and only a short walk from, the main campus building. This opened in late 2023 and includes a café and common room, a research library, upgraded administration spaces and facilities, and bespoke teaching spaces.
Following the opening of the new sixth-form building, additional facilities came online at the start of 2024. These include new specialist sports facilities, a robotics/AI/VR suite, plus extra science labs.
The final phase of JC’s expansion works is scheduled for completion in time for the start of the 2024-25 academic year. It involves the redesign and enhancement of the main JC building, encompassing:
- An auditorium with retractable seating
- Black box drama classrooms
- New music suites
- A larger canteen space
- A food technology lab
- A new multi-purpose sports hall
- An enhanced swimming pool and surrounds
- An upgraded administration and reception area
- Additional classrooms
