English

The English department offers an interesting and varied curriculum to years 7 through to 13.  We follow the National Curriculum at Key stage 3, the AQA syllabus for GCSE and now offer three different disciplines at A-level: English Literature, English Literature and Language and Media.

 The department also runs a range of extra-curricular activities, including: debating, book club, literary society (VIth form), creative writing and film society.

 

Jumeirah College Review

The Jumeirah College Review is a new initiative from the English department which aims to publish some of the best writing from year 7 to year 13 on a regular basis.  Whether this work is generated in the classroom or simply the result of independent creative interests, we want to see what you’ve been writing. 

Pease hand your poem, review, short story, pastiche or whatever it is that you’re proud of to Mrs Millar.  We will publish the best writing that we receive to celebrate the talent of Jumeirah College students.  You might even have the chance to feature in the British Schools in the Middle East Anthology!
