JC Curriculum

The National Curriculum for England, taught by U.K. qualified and experienced teachers, is based on a rich and varied curriculum that provides ample opportunities for students to realise their potential. The broad and structured framework outlines expected levels of achievement for the duration of a student's education and provides a regular programme of student assessment and evaluation, ensuring that students work towards their potential and achieve age appropriate levels.  Held in high regard around the world, The National Curriculum for England is divided into Key Stages.

JC Curriculum Table

Students at Jumeirah College participate in the National Assessment Tests of England. These assessment tests are taken at the end of Key Stage 3 [Year 9]. Students then follow on to GCSE [General Certificate of Secondary Education] courses, which are taken in Year 11 and on to A levels, which are modular and are taken in Years 12 and 13.

Academic Success
Jumeirah College has gained a deserved reputation for high academic standards. At all levels, students at Jumeirah College have earned high marks in external assessment tests and examinations.

Our Year 9 students also perform well in the UK Key Stage 3 National Tests [formerly known as SATs], 99% achieved level 5 in English and 100% in Science and Mathematics juxtaposed against the U.K national average, which was 66%. Just as impressive was the percentage of our students achieving level 6 or higher. The U.K. national percentages are well below 50% while our students attained 74% in English and 95% in Mathematics and 90% Science. These results easily place Jumeirah College in the top 5% of schools around the world following The National Curriculum for England.

Jumeirah College is also a Registered Examination Centre for all UK examination boards.

Target Setting
Jumeirah College is at the forefront of educational practice in the way it uses the information from the assessment tests to set  attainment targets for each student and to track their progress on an individual basis. This strategy provides a powerful motivator for students and helps students learn the importance of working towards specific goals. Parents and teachers, too, are provided with a realistic basis for assessing the progress and achievement of each student.
